Duties
The Muslim woman is devoted to
her home, her family, and her husband. If she works outside the home to aid in the support of the family, then her
husband would help her in raising the children and household responsibilities.
It is her duty to guard that which belongs to her husband in his absence and to
guard herself against unwanted attention from others.
Her religious duties are the same as a man except when she has had a child
(postpartum bleeding) or
is menstruating. In these circumstances, fasting is the only duty that
should be made up.
I have covered in more detail on marriage, prayer and fasting on the following
pages. In these areas there are differing points of view and I have opted
for moderation.
