Introduction

My name is Safia and I am a Muslim. I was born an American Christian and I have lived all my life in the United States. I reverted (a person is called a revert instead of a convert when they embrace Islam), to Islam in 1994. I learned about Islam when I went to college in 1980 and it was there that I met the man who would become my husband. He is also a Muslim. We married in 1982 and moved from the mid-western United States to the western United States. It was through the wonderful Muslim people I met in the west that I embraced Islam. 	To counter the many Misconceptions, misunderstandings and deceptions associated with Islam.
	To give a better understanding of Women in Islam.
	To give an overview of Islam.
	To give an insight into the political and economic forces of the middle east, The Region of Islam.
